Singles Poem by Somanathan Iyer

Singles

Those who are singles
Love to recall past memoirs
Solitude of theirs
Causes mostly despair
Pushed by destiny
Or by own priority
Life looks lackluster
Riches and comforts
Bring outward pleasures
Yet craves the heart
Something intimate
False courage pops up
For sake of society
Yet heart longs
For something dear
Bygone events
In the midst of dear ones
Insert relief that is instant
Cherishing those things
Provide the succor
To the ailing solitude
That appears inseparable
