Sing No Sad Songs Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Sing No Sad Songs

Rossetti, Christina
Rossetti, Georgina
with her unique poetical score,
born close to Bow Bells
died close to Bow Bells
departed at age sixty-four.

She wrote all alone
in a room of her own
unmarried... on England's
green shore; her brother
Dante Gabriel was a poet
and artist, and the style
of both we adore.

At Christina's behest
and her final request,
no sad songs for her
must there be, but we will
always recall how she
gave us her all, in the
magic of her poetry.
