Since You Left Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Since You Left

Aware that you may never be coming back
To deal with that I haven't learned yet
I cry until I can't cry no more
Without you I feel empty inside
Need your embrace to feel alive
Awake me from my sleep
Been unconscious for awhile
The nothingness eats away at my sanity
Need you to complete me
I find comfort there in your touch
Set my soul at ease, As I hold you dear to my heart
I cherish the memory, And hurt all at once
I freed you
thinking you'd find your way back in my arms
But had never stop to think of the damages
I'd be causing myself
Life is all about taking chances
And I've took that chance with you
If you must return then you'll be mine
