Simply Cool (Couplets) Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

This is my island, where the palm trees grow.
The sunlight is warm and soft winds blow.

As calm as the sea with its beckoning waters
Is the fresh breath of nature that I find here.

In this world we face irritants that may
Mar the inner peace we enjoy each day,

I keep my strength in this placid retreat,
Cool as the palm trees and the waters they meet.

Some rant and rage, I let them lose control.
This solitude is lovely, it so makes me whole.
