Why is it hard for one to understand
The actual reason for this God-given gift to man
Why there's always a beginning to an inevitable end
A boundless question so hard to comprehend
Life is a composite journey
A valley of joy and an ocean of glee
A lake of myriad struggles and unremitting trials
Where evil and goodness are bitter rivals
Chaotic some lives have been
From birth 'til death that's what they've seen
While others lay in beds of gold
A life of serenity and peace behold
How complex is it to trace our roots
When every tree bears different fruits
If indeed from one we all began
Then why are our faces and skins not one?
These antiquated questions we often ask
Yet still the answers are beyond our grasp
But we could at least hold on to our faith so tight
If we learn to realize God's infinite wisdom and might
Life, no matter how we define it
Is full of ironies, mysteries, and obscuring mists
An enormous wonder where faith, theory, and reality are blended
An absolute fact that is simply complicated
