Simplicity Of A Moment With You

If I could just hold you close
If I could just sit with you
Laughing, swimming, staring at the clouds
How amazing that would be
Feeling the breeze
Hearing nature's song
Watching the kids play
Seeing the beauty of life
How amazing it would be
The simplicity of it all
Just amazing
How wonderful
Beautiful and free
Whether it be day or night
Stormy or perfect
I'd trade everything
Just for that one moment
That simple pleasure
The time with you
Loud or quiet
Barely noticed or fully examined
The perfection of it all
How amazing
How truly wonderfully perfect

poet Walt Whitman

ARM’D year! year of the struggle!
No dainty rhymes or sentimental love verses for you, terrible year!
Not you as some pale poetling, seated at a desk, lisping cadenzas
