Simplicity Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Simplicity

Ministering spirits like flowers
Shedding evil like bells in the valley
Contradictions heal in ease of morning
Green trees smile like everlasting bliss
I want to be a nice person

Old furniture and wood
Dappled light
Myriad of blending colors
Songs of birds
Flowing water

Painting of ships
Art that reflects joy
Daily bread of the soul
Music filled with grace
Tea served in a cup for a lady

Manners and reasonable protocol
Politeness and a smile
A place to write
Windows open
Purring cat at peace

I praise God I know simplicity

This is simply beautiful in the double sense of the beauty of truth and the beauty of appearance. But I like the way you pause from stating the lofty to showing an appreciation for a two cup fit for a lady. It also shows in the witty remark I WANT TO BE A NICE MAN. The fact that you write a reasonably long poem on the subject of simplicity shiows that simplicity is neither simplistic nor fundamentalist. It is rather a recognition of the WHOLENESS OF THINGS and a plea for making ample for room for everything that belongs and coheres. This to me is the real Americana, and it wipes the slate clean of all the trash-talk of TV and politics.
