Simple Pleasures Poem by Toshie Nohara

Simple Pleasures

Rating: 3.0

How blessed children are
It's interesting how they play together
It's amazing to
watch children so carefree
Simply enjoying the
everyday things
Simple pleasure in just having
fun on the swing in their parent's
backyard
Boys challenging each other in
playing marbles
Or a bigger brother
teaching the younger to
hit or catch a ball
And
Girls making mud
pies or 'meat balls'
Or a bigger sister
teaching the younger to
skip and how not to fall

Other times the siblings gather
together
Relaxing or
Lying on their
backs in the grass
Innocent eyes watching
Colorful butterflies cruising in
the air
Or just have fun
Tickling each other here and
there
Laughing and
sharing their joy
Or just singing, acting, dancing cheerfully to their
heart's content

Oh how, they use their
imagination when they look at
the sky
Clouds can really look like
angels with wings
Even when they 'fly' silently

Clouds fascinate them
Some clouds can look like
kittens chasing pigeons!

In Autumn, children love to
rake the fallen
leaves
Patiently forming them into a big
pile
Then run and jump till
their cheeks turn rosy
Enjoying every moment!

Simple pleasures that don't
cost a dime
Are memorable treasure.

Probably the best time of life. These simple pleasures are invaluable and they never come back as we age. I enjoyed your poem. :)
