Silver Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Silver

I walked up to the bridge tonight
the ground was wet
I wish I didn’t have to listen
to the sad piano track in my head.

You tried to be patient with me,
I know I know, I tried
but this strength inside
is slowly draining me.

Sitting, watching the moon,
it reflected on the lake
it was on its knees
begging for me to dry my tears.

The stars spoke in front of me
I wish you could see
how hard I try
oh solitude, where are you?

It’s getting colder
looking at the spot
where you once touched me
there was nothing but frost.

Looking into the blinking sky
the lights weep with me
in the morning, no sun will rise,
it’s always night time for me.
