Silly, Foolish Boy Poem by Madison Riffle

Silly, Foolish Boy

Silly, foolish boy
With ideas so amusing
You think you own my heart
You believe you have my soul
But I smile for a reason
This heart comes at a price
And this soul cannot be won
Not can it be purchased
If you truly want me
All that I am
You will need much more
Than your silly, foolish ideas
Read these Terms and Conditions
That I thus set forth
My heart comes at the
Price of your love
And my soul must be earned
Such emotion must be evoked
That brands my soul ever yours
Unless you are capable of such
Work as this
The earning of a heart
The branding of a soul
You are not worth, even
To have your silly, foolish ideas
Silly, foolish boy

Love is the purest emotion of heart no one can fix a price over it, when it comes, no one can stops its flow....but being a challenge when one doesn't accept it... Nice poem... A challenge for that person with silly, foolish ideas... I like this poem...

Thank you for the comments. Yes, it would be just as foolish for me to demand love from someone who cannot give it, but the point is more that he thinks he has me, but the only way for him to get me is to love me. There is no in-between if he wants all of me. I based this on a friend of mine who seems to think he can capture my heart while still holding me at arm's length and this poem is simply a statement that it won't work.

A silly, foolish boy he seems, indeed. Lovely poetry, I love your passion.
