Silent Tears Poem by Jennifer Colyne Hall

Silent Tears

In the silence of the night

She hears him

Across the room

But he sounds so near

As silent tears find a way

To the edge, and slowly

Each one finds its end

She rests now, take a breath

He silently wipes at his face

For only one have seen these tears in light

He makes small whimpering sounds in the night

He loves her so much

She is his world, his rock

She held it all together

What to do now she fell apart

He yearns to hold his jenny

Rub her hair, and tell her it will be ok

Looking out the window

Praying to what he never believed 'I'll do anything,

just give me my jenny, smiling and carefree once more'

As a falling star rushes by the window

Just maybe somewhere, someone heard his silent tears
