Silence Of Words Poem by Adedamola Michael Onalaja

Silence Of Words

In my anger
I sought for silence
The silence of the rising sun
Slowly shining brightly
The brightness of the moonlight
At the darkest hour of the night

In my silence
I sought for an answer
To the anger I felt deep inside
Carefully thinking of what may be
As a result of my response
Choosing wisely in the right direction

In my choices
Found me, the worst
The rage in my heart
Tearing down my skin bit by bit
Therefore, the best response I had
Were still the unspoken words “Silence”

In that moment of silence
Still lay the best
The calmness in my head
Responding quietly to my thoughts
In my silence I did find peace
In that moment of despair.
