Silence Poem by Alex Kenneh

Silence

Eyes still and wishing,
Sunrays on their faces,
Grasp of set minds,
Unexposed to a cold world,
Sum of all fears,
Relinquishing innocence,
Earth, Wind and Fire, beings of desire,
Hopeful tiny hearts, tip toe into
Trouble inside us, them,
Trouble of double consciousness,
Headaches, heart’s pumping,
Words are earthquakes,
Melancholy melodies descend,
Roots of America carry strange fruit,
Family ties and trees,
Seeds jump rope,
To the cadence of laughter,
Messi foot steps towards greatness,
Heaven is just a mile away,
Relentless ambition,
Blessings glisten,
Obstacles risen,
Stereotyped deferred fates,
Blue print to life awaits.

Great use of images coalescing into some lovely verses, abstract but very tangible, this really speaks about the varied joys and pains of life.
