I never ask for much, I always am polite

of hate of debt
Free to be me!

Like a stream of water rushing down the street
With people of all nations rushing feet
The city roars with noise as the sun beats down
And traffic appears to snore as it snakes through town.

To have and to hold has failed with me, no more the lover
Or caresser of dreams that hold a heart close to mine with
No knowledge of love and loves labour lost is a memory
Of a romance once held dear, now lost in the annals of time,

A shot rang out and no one saw
Yet in the madness of the charge
All life was lost and the field
Became a grave for many boys

Since dawns first light
The endless day, the long good night
The day that came
To bring what rites of passage life

He was despised and rejected
This tramp of God, this stranger in our world
He was despised and rejected
This Man who came to end on a tree.

The rain poured from leaden skies
Upon the sodden ground that lies
Beneath Creators feet.
Bequeathed to man to care

You make me mad
You drive me to distraction
Your confrontational reaction
Has distorted the truth of my action

I need amazing grace for living in the human race
I need the saving grace of Saviours arms opened wide
But the world says I need to get a life that don't offend
The people who say I am deluded following the one
