Shy Girl Poem by Christina Simmons

Shy Girl

A shy girl… just a shy girl like any other
Cos a shy girl needs substance… a shy girl like any other
A shy girl…yeah a shy girl

Chorus
Not inclined to go forward… moving along with the stream
Don't rely on me... don't expect too much of me.
Stubborn as a mule....ha! Ha! Ha
Yeah...Yeah… so shy so scared… softly…
ever so slowly....gently taking my time.... cos that's where it's at

Say boo… I'll run a mile and hide.
Cos… just a shy girl! Just a shy girl like any other
Raise your voice I'll run afloat cos... just a shy girl....
Never in a rush...just gliding along - taking my time
Lackadaisical that's me....floating along.....

Surrender myself to you... butter in your hands!
Putty in the palm of your hands...
Mould me! Shape me! Style me! Any way you want....

Repeat
I'm the child! Not the mother! Nor the slave....
Daughter! Not the concubine....
Treat me well....treat me good...like you know you should
Filled with joy always....Ooh...Ooh...Ooh
Only don't break my heart...don't break my heart

Shy girl....cos just a shy girl
Soft yolk of an egg....chew with ease: savouring every bite... taste me! Feel me!
Like flower petals...delight in every bite....so tasty you'll want more
Shy girl...like any other...just a shy girl who doesn't want
to be hurt
