Should we kill poetry
For the sake of pedants
And formalists?
Let's not hold up poetry
In a bottle
And cork it with excessive
Criticism and rules
Poetry survives when
The quest to comment
Radiates the same joy as
Writing or reading.
This way that
Poetry may not be killed.
