Shores of the dammed

The shores of hate the vain of man the ravaged shores I do not know who I am forever am I cursed left in the bloody sands forever am I trapped at the shores of the dammed screaming I hear cries from a distant land forever I am trapped on the shores of the dammed ravaged knife in my hand screams of torment and agony on the shores of the dammed I hear the little one screams of death his bloody carcass ripped open and torn to shreds in this land forever to be cursed on the shores of the dammed every night I wake hear the violent cries I see the agony as the little one dies all I know is pain all I feel not for man they commend me to the shores of the dammed forcing me to live out the rest miserable life in hate and anger I want take my life but I am already dead cast out forgotten by gods time and man forever until the end of time I remain here trapped on the shores of the dammed

poet Christina Georgina Rossetti

Where sunless rivers weep
Their waves into the deep,
She sleeps a charmed sleep:
Awake her not.
Led by a single star,
She came from very far
