Shelflife Of A Un Resolution Poem by gershon hepner

Shelflife Of A Un Resolution

With shelflife of a pint of milk
UN resolutions sour,
and ultimately serve to bilk
the State of Israel of its power.
Herzl said in nineteen five:
“If you should will it, it’s no dream, ”
a nightmare if we should connive
to let it turn to sour cream.
The usual suspects aren’t corralled
in Casablanca, Humphrey Bogart
might well have said, and snidely snarled
if they’d been left to spoil like yoghurt.
When milk starts spoiling there’s a stench
that warns milk lovers to take care:
who warns us though about the French,
and resolutions that they share
with UN members, the consumers
of states’ naïve irresolution,
supporting with their votes the doomers
of Zion with their peace solution?

I'm with you....what good is it to pass a resolution to restrict their bad behavior...There is such a thing as the Art Of War....and even the terroist understand that Peace only comes through Victory.

I admire the beauty and brilliance of the poem (as with so many other poems by Mr Hepner) - even as I disagree with the politics!
