She Says She Can'T Stand Me Poem by Leonard Champlin

She Says She Can'T Stand Me

Rating: 4.3

She says that she can't stand me when I tell he that I love her
she hates it when I say it that there is no one above her.

She says that she can't stand me whenever I choose to call her
but we stay upon the telephone for hour after hour.

She says that she can't stand me when I ask her out to dinner
but she'll gladly take my offer 'cause she'll only dine with winners.

She says that she can't stand me, but 'let's go out for a beer'
while we sit at our favorite club for hours of laughter and cheer.

She says that she can't stand me for long walks in the park
hours of walking nature trails, and kisses after dark.

She says that she can't stand me, but to grow old all alone?
For her it's not an option, for her it's not yet known.

She says that she can't stand me, but when I was gone
she'd search until she found me from evening till the dawn.

She says that she can't stand me, tell me, what do you think?
Does it sound like a person with just a nod and a wink?

I think not my friends, sounds like true love to me
so perhaps she really CAN'T stand me, because she truly loves me.

There really is no secret here of how he feels for she
nor of the thoughts within her heart of how she feels for he.

But then again, maybe she really CAN'T stand me!

Really?

What an adorable poem. Light like a feather, But all makes, Very good sense, Together. Thank you for a moment of heartwarming delight.
