She Keeps Waiting Over Poem by Talha Ebrahim

She Keeps Waiting Over

working hard,
to change his status,
a poor man,
crossing the road,
ran over by a pillion,
died on spot,
with the name of her,
on his lips...
and
she remains waiting for him
preparing the dinner
with all her love
waiting for the clock to tick till 9
and the doorbell to ring
she keeps waiting over
with his name
on her lips
and his face
in her eyes
she keeps waiting over.
she was taken aback,
when she got the news
she ran to the hospital,
leaving all the work
that was due.
she saw him for one last time
tears start streaming from her eyes
his face mutilated
with bleeding scars
a lifeless corpse
lying on the altar
she keeps waiting over
her soul in anguish,
she doubled over,
felt a heart wrenching pain
and fell on her lover.
a light she saw,
above her eyes
straining to look
she heard his voice
beckoning her above
a voice so genteel
she started to spasm
felt a relief
as she grabbed his palm
and glided above.
there in a halo
they both stood over
stared at first
then embraced each other
in the eternal bliss
the haven of joy
where she and he
they both could be
together forever
a sigh of relief
passed her lips
as she got him forever
rather than in the earth below
she keeps waiting over..
