Her smile doesn’t lie
She is not there

Her eyes will not try
She is not there

Her flesh is illusion
She is not there

No trace of confusion
She is not there

Her velvet veil’s invisible
But I know it is there

And so is her description
I know it’s some place near

She sees right through me
I am not there

She’ll never pursue me
I am not there

I am but a hatching
I am not there

She won’t hear my scratching
I am not there

She’s aware of my footsteps
And knows that I’m there

But won’t cast a glance
Why would she care

She can’t hear my call
She is not there

Not attempting to stall

My hope is in vain
