She Is A True Poet Poem by Francis Duggan

She Is A True Poet

She is a true poet and the poet in her sing
Of the beauty of Nature the flowers of the Spring
And in Nature there's beauty in most things she see
And she writes of the red blooms on the callistemon tree

And the flowers of the Summer lovely to behold
The daisies the hyacinths and the marigold
The crimson of the waratah the yellow of the broom
And roses and hydranges and agapanthus in bloom.

The birds by their voices she never gets wrong
The black and white magpie with the beautiful song
To the song of the butcherbird at dawn she awake
His bubbling voice she could never mistake.

A beautiful person her soul full of light
Of love and of Nature and of people she write
Yet she is one who never craves for renown
The leading young poet or poetess of the town.

She is a true poet and true poets are rare
And the fruit of her gifts with all others she share
The beautiful poetry she writes is inspiring to read
Loved by those who know her by example she lead.
