After a long, exhaustive day
Of brightening our lives
The sun readies herself
To settle down for the night
With a twitch of her nose
And a twinkle from her eye
A plethora of bright colors
Scatters beyond the sky
Her eyes gently close
And silver lashes peek
through the clouds
Even the birds cease
Their fluttering to admire
The suns colorful sounds
As the sun fades into the horizon
She bids us good night
And a promise for tomorrow;
A sunrise of shimmering light.
