She Asked The Right People Poem by Dean Meredith

She Asked The Right People

So what's better
He asked her
Bullshit from strangers
Or the truth
From someone who cares

It's warmth and comfort
Then knowing it's a lie
It's pain and self-longing
Versus someone else's life
And the choice is tomorrow

And the choice
Is live or die
On a sword filled with glory
Or a brick wall and a story
Told by someone else's guy

It's the chance for redemption
To release the tears that cry
For mistakes and for lessons
And reasons to fly
And there are no excuses

For the ones who touch the sky
And they fly like the angels
And they see the wonder why
The exultation worth everything
And the crashing bye the bye
