Shattered Glass Poem by Christal Carpenter

Shattered Glass

Broken, shattered glass
Stuck into my skin
There still there
You can't see them
They're under my fake
Under my pink
Beside the black
Becoming a part of me
A constant pain
Unable to go away
My fake presses against them
Boring them deeper and deeper
Until they are inside me
Unable to get out
Scars on my scars

Salty poison tears
Stuck in my eyes
They're still there
You can't see them
There under my smile
Under my false
Under the pretend joy
Above the hidden frown
Always apart of me
A constant pain
unable to go away
Eating away at my soul
Build up inside me
Won't let them out
Unfallen tears after my tears
