Shattered Poem by Ashley Nichol

Shattered

Rating: 5.0

Did I wake you?
Were you sleeping?
Were you still in my bed?
Or is a nightmare keeping you up instead?
Oh Baby, are you feeling guilty for what you did?
If you think you're hurting now,
you haven't seen nothing yet!

Was it really worth it?
Was she everything you were looking for,
to feel like a man?
I hope you know that you cant come back,
Cause all we have is broken like shattered glass.

You're gonna see me in your dreams tonight.
My face is gonna haunt you all the time.
I promise that you gonna want me back,
When your world falls apart like shattered glass.

Are you having trouble focusing throughout the day?
Do you find yourself still calling my name?
Do you wish you could rewind time and take it back?
Oh and,
Realize she ain't half the woman I am.

Now we have nothing.
It's not worth trying to fix.
When you lose a love like we lost,
It's just better to leave it a shattered glass,
than to get hurt trying to fix it.

There are few women, I believe, that are worth anything in this world just like there are few men who deserve any sort of attention. It would seem like he lost something good and because he F-ked up, he wouldn't deserve a worthy woman anyway. The poem is a situation that you went through and reflects a common problem in the world: that people don't see what's in front of them and so they strive to get something that isn't half as good as what they already have. I knew a person who went through the same exact thing. Good poem, Ms. Nichol.10 for content.10 for meaning.
