Sharp Words Poem by Red Brist

Sharp Words

Sharp words
Slice harsh and clean
Standing helplessly
Feeling stupid

Trying to cover up the hurt
In statements unseen
The knowledge of your state
Keeps me from lashing back
The lack of knowledge of my state
Keeps you from understanding
Just where I am at

Two chapters lie open
Upon different pages
Commencement ignites
A day coming
When chapters won't separate
But mold into one
When characters
Are no longer strangers
When the story no longer
Reads as a tale
But an eminent reality
Until this recognition
We must be two
