Shake Up Poem by moon dust

Shake Up

Every once in awhile
Someone comes along and feeds my mind
Nudges the sleeping spirit inside of me
Makes my soul crave more
Every once in awhile
My mind is numbed by 37 years of walking this earth
By people I've encountered and too much tv
Too many meals out of bags and boxes
Eyes glazed over I no longer see
I just be
And then every once in awhile
Someone comes along
And throws a spark on the dead timbers of my self
And I am alive to see
Become more true to me
I wake up, get shaked up
And flames of my spirit rise up
Life can smother my fire or chant up the flames
Higher and higher
My mind can dance to the possibilities I haven't entertained
In a long time
My mind can dance
Every once in awhile.
