Shadows Like Memory Poem by Rabindra Paudel

Shadows Like Memory

As the sun peeks out of the rugged hill
shadows of moving machines
wax and wane
on the rusty walls of the houses:
shadows - - some speedy like sprinting horses,
Others dull, like tortoises lazing together.

Every morning she appears at the shiny roofs
Walks along the winded streets and stands before me;
She disappears all of a sudden: the misty east
swallows her.

Every morning shadows of moving machines
wax and wane
on the rusty walls of the houses
like living memories.
