Shadows Poem by Brianna King

Shadows

You might love it,
You might hate it,
But you follow the darkness home,
You fight it in a battle and no one wins,
And through the coldest nights you ever faced,
It’s always stabbing you right in the back.

It’s called love,
You can’t lose it,
It will always be the shadow that follows you home,
If you turn around it will be there,
It will never leave you alone.

Reverberating foot steps,
Run through your mine,
As you look around,
Your wings break,
And you fall to the ground.

It’s called love,
You can’t lose it,
It will always be the shadow that follows you home,
If you turn around it will be there,
It will never leave you alone.

The shadows call your name,
As it asked you to come home,
You leave them there,
With out a care.

It’s called love,
You can’t lose it,
It will always be the shadow that follows you home,
If you turn around it will be there,
It will never leave you alone.
