Shadows Poem by G J Salgado

Shadows

When will this body last before its beauty starts to fade
How long will it be before life takes us in its embrace
Is it just the same old song
When all we knew had went wrong
You're more than a memory
It burns deep inside of me
You were more than a friend
When will we see the end
It doesn't have to end so don't let it disappear
We're shadows inside each other's fears
Let's watch ourselves as we become the love story that was always meant to be
When getting old will never make us weak
Only stronger in our love for each other
As we walk along this long path of life together
You're more than a memory burning deep inside of me
You're more than a friend, until we've finally reached the end
Before then we'll see the beauty within each other every day
Before it all starts to fade away
