Shadows Poem by Sean Showalter

Shadows

Cast upon the concrete
Of yesterday's light
Where past lovers pine
longing in the night

Where demons, they creep
And angels, they die
Where faith has no place
And truth is a lie

Echoes through canyon
With no one to hear
Tis better to search
Than to live in the fear

They travel in darkness
Forever they go
Eternally damned
On the wings of a crow

Joined in a memory
Of yesterday's joy
Clinging to hope
A lost girl and boy

Fall into shadow
Where they become one
Clutching the concrete
On the edge of the sun
