Shadowed Heroes Poem by Jack A. Rogers

Shadowed Heroes

Rating: 4.5

America called come take your stand
For love of country our beautiful land So very young with nerves of steel
The fiery battle does not conceal Terrifying moments, no quarter asked
Bloody confrontations a gallant task Hostile fire all through the night
Upon this earth my lastly fight Oh! Pray lord peace of mind
Instant death and left behind Shadowed crosses as the sun goes down
My resting plot of grassy ground God shed his love upon this place
Monument for the brave and any race History read they served well
In all the wars where buddies fell Remember this they gave their best
They died for you and lay at rest
