Shadow Pupets Poem by Nicole GravellPellerino

Shadow Pupets

Rating: 0.5

Creatures glide through a dark room-
onyx and fluid over their plaster backdrop.
Two-dimensional dogs and birds
bark, chatter, chirrup, and squeal
without a solitary sound.
Stories unfold, plot less, and meaningless,
as told by the most innocent.
An angry alligator becomes a shrieking cat
as easily as it does a cheery blue jay.
Suddenly, the nominal light fades into total darkness.
Without a bow, the silent actors rest-
but only until next nightfall.
