Shadow Of The Cross Poem by David Harris

Shadow Of The Cross

Rating: 4.5

One of FJR’s poems inspired this poem.

The shadow of the cross
extended down from the hill,
to remind us all of faith,
and the need to have.
It spoke of an ancient story,
of the son of God being crucified.
It also told how we
are all brothers and sisters,
though we are spread out
across many, many lands.

Some people have said,
while looking at the cross
they have seen a figure there
wearing a crown of thorns,
and that he seemed to have a halo
as the sun greeted us in the morn.
Whether that be true or not
I do not know.
However when you look
up at the cross
a heavenly stillness descends down
on everything around,
and that I do know.

It also told how we are all brothers and sisters, though we are spread out across many, many lands. The story and the history of the cross changed the world and is still changing. tony
