Shadow Poem by Rebecca Stansfield

My shadow; I tried to chase,
But God it seemed to disappear,
I tried to catch it I do promise,
My apologies in my tears.

But you see my body lingered over,
And I didn't know what it was,
Although congealed in solid mess,
And all of because;

Because all of my friends are lost,
I tried to chase my shadow,
But God did it seem to so disappear,
Out of control of my scenario-

I hope that you forgive me...
For not knowing what I'm doing,
For not knowing who I am this time,
As I rinse out, for renewing-

Renewing of my body,
To stay my shadow clean,
And I know what you are thinking! ,
'HOW COULD SHE BE SO MEAN? '

You're thinking how can a little girl like me,
Lose a simple shadow,
But I'm only seventeen you see,
And I can't see through this scenario!
