Shackle Poem by Sudam Panigrahi

Shackle

Wherever I go
An invisible shackle constricts
Me completely.
I try my best
To unshackle my lips,
Brain and brawn.
But manacles
Grip me forcefully,
Like a prey
In the clutch
Of a boa constrictor.

Oh intolerable,
Suffocating,
As I see
My dreams being crushed
By time, situation
And my urge to go ahead
With more speed.

I’m shackled to think freely
Free to be shackled easily.
