Shackels And A Cage Poem by Autumn Winds

Shackels And A Cage

Cracks in something once broken
Pencil marks not fully erased

Shadows of what was
Dim the light of now

Trapped in white rooms
Black lines paint pictures

Greys of nothing
Penetrate brilliant colors

Those addicted
Uncontrolled desire

Hinder
Yet release

You trade dull shackles
For shining gold ones

Switch bland prisons
For a guilded cage

Is there a difference?
