! ! Seven Strings! ! ! ! !

Rating: 3.6

For the time I live and for
the days on its count
remarkably, on a scenic ambience
I crave to harvest seven notes
from ocean of divine music,
to play on my seven stringed Veena*
my fingers move ascent and descent
on those seven strings
to pulsate melodic surprises

From seven notes on scales
low and high variants
I tug my fingers on strings
to formulate a mesmerizing
musical format
from the seven marvels and from
the seventy two fundamental
melodic modes I want to
compile a unique symphony.

White lotus petals hold my dreams
and a goddess* steers me
in a haven, I want to sit and
play my Veena to stimulate
divine music garnered from
knowledge of melodies–Sama Veda*

To my dear reader friends,
*Veena - Carnatic Classical Music Instrument, (Indian classical music is of two forms Carnatic Classical and Hindustani) . Seven musical notes SRGMPDN or Sapthaswara. From seven notes seventy two Parent Ragas (melodic modes) are formatted and from these thousands of ragas originated to bestow life to compositions. In Hindu mythology Goddess Saraswathy plays Veena. Vedas are ancient Sanskrit literature- (oldest sacred texts of Hinduism) , layers of knowledge, in four parts. Sama Veda is knowledge of melodies...

As per Vedic Hindu mythology Goddess with ‘veena’ is Divine Music personified. For music to give heavenly feel it should have a composition rich in proper syllable counts notes expressive words and a select meter. In a similar way for a poem to rhyme ring around and sing onto ‘inner human’ it should adhere well to rules related to counts words and meter. This poem is rich in imaginative expressions. Congrats, Rema *10*

Rema, are you aware that the pulsating melody from your veena blend with the rhythmic vibrations of the entire cosmos! ? Phythogoras first spoke of music of the spheres.Shakespear later immortalised the concept in his Merchant of Venice Act V.Now the latest String Theories are speaking about vibrations of nano strings in their effort to synthesise Quantum Theory with Relativity! The Veena strings & its music are for eternity! -Raj Nandy
