Sestina Poem by Charlotte Pinkney

Sestina

Rating: 5.0

I sit in the house
And I smell the flowers
As the cats
Stalk around my book
That stands by a clock
Supported by a statue
A statue
Of a tiny house
With a tiny clock
Shadowed by flowers
And a threatening book
About the cats
The cats
That stand still as a statue
Around the book
About a house
Filled with flowers
And made of a clock
A clock
With painted cats
And frozen flowers
By a statue
Of a house
And a book
A book
About a clock
With hands as big as a house
And the cats
Sniff around a statue
Of some flowers
Some flowers
Stand in a vase on a book
About a statue
Of a clock
Painted with cats
In a house
(Envoi)
The flowers stand by the clock
Next to the book about cats
In the statue of a house
