Servant Of Sacrifice Poem by Dorsey Baker

Servant Of Sacrifice

darkness is
a coat too warm to wear
in the closet
deception hides its face
death is more than willing
to take its haul
birds of prey
seek a victim for their breakfast
human remains
stay still until
the body is removed
all the trees
their leaves fallen
have no idenity
and the frozen ground
is white with snow
the troubled and homeless
soul is begging
as beggars pretend
they have nothing to give.
