Serengeti Love Song Poem by minette irsay

Serengeti Love Song

Rating: 2.2

we lie down to rest in the heat of the day
in a room cool and dark
on silken duvet

softly you breath inhaling my scent
your hand gently caressing the nape of my neck
i rest in your arms awaiting descent

kisses soft nestle
turn to nips on my ears
sighs turn to purring softly we wrestle

hair turns mane
hand to a paw
tooth to a fang
nails turn into claw

blue eyes furl tawny brown turn to amber
duvet to sand grass
breathing to growl and pant

the room melts away from us
mating comences
we wrestle in sand and rush

rough tongues and fang emerge
nips bites and claws impart
how feral the urge

heavy paw bats at a playful cub nose
need now sated we lie in the shade
our secret kept close
our new offspring made

no one must know
none would believe
what we both can achieve

animal chemistry springs up from afar
human to beast transformation so simple
changing back now to the people we are

mane back to hair
paw back to hand
fang back to tooth
claws fade to nail

your arm over my belly
my leg cross'd your thigh
and the feral cat love smell
hangs in the room heavy

silken duvet settles back down
cat love scents room now
we never expect when our bodies transform
panting to sighs again sleep settles your brow

when we wake tentative questions are asked
did you feel it this time how long did it last
the scent lingers on the coolness and....
there on the duvet is a small mound of sand

tufts of fur
scent of cat
mound of sand
each one displaying
bite mark and scratch

we smile
knowing only we must know
of the serengeti love song
