Separating Sanity Poem by Kenneth English

Separating Sanity

I fear pride has brought us poor coin,
And in a blind indifference
We piled ourselves with resistance
To the touch of the kind.
Are your thoughts such straight lines
That you blind yourself to the curves
Of all experience.
Did your mind loose sight to serve
Another master who has since
Betrayed you to the verve
Of the popular groin.

Only a fool sees others in color,
Your pride has made you duller.

Pluck a flower to give a name
Upon a tiny label
That way no one be able
To see beyond the lie.
Perfections a stye
Stuck to your character,
Leave that to him
Our only creator.
Base nothing on a whim.
You would be a slave or
A marytr all the same.

Dont wear the faces of our fathers
Be gentle and kind to your future
