Senseless Death

Death is blind,
Death is deaf,
yet it is dumb,

Little wonder
None ever see it come.

Death is senseless
Absolutely at that.
So much so,
To the kings door
It knocks upon
From a mother's womb
It feeds thereof.

If death had a way,
Beyond Earths grip
It would stray,
Pon Heavens gate it will shake,
And the chains of hell
will get no break,
As it Searches
for a new soul to take.

Senseless
As death may seem,
Upon every soul
Still it sneaks,
And taking from any
As it wills.

Poem of the Day

poet Wilfred Owen

All sounds have been as music to my listening:
Pacific lamentations of slow bells,
The crunch of boots on blue snow rosy-glistening,
Shuffle of autumn leaves; and all farewells:
