Selfish Poem by shannon wright

Selfish

My heart feels the beat of The One,
From an ocean away and perhaps worlds apart

From heaven to a mere mortal?
Perhaps. But. I pray never to know.

If you ever loved me Lord
You will never let this be…

Selfish?

Surely I am, but I pray to depart
before the last breath escapes his lips.
