Selfish Poem by Ibn Ali

Selfish

Do they love me or do they need me
Selfish
It's just masceraded use
I tend a need, I fill a hole
It's really all about you
How I make you feel, how I make you smile, make you feel complete
But I'm mostly sad and I always frown and I'm missing a piece
You say you love me and sound convinced
Myself, myself, myself and no-one else
If you loved me you wouldn't need reminding
You'd know I needed help
A claim is a claim, and until proven, null and void
What you say is something said, let your actions feed your voice
That's why you hardly hear me say I love you
But I'm hoping you're not blind
An untold truth is still true
If unspoken it won't become a lie
