Selfie Poem by Savita Tyagi

Selfie

A picture speaks for thousand words
in a deceptive world
It too deceives a thousand times
Behind an innocent smile
Lie a thousand deceived tears.

When alone
Take a selfie and look
With in your self.

What you truly feel inside matters most. Be true to yourself. Nicely stated in the poem.

A touching poem, liked the use of word selfie.....................Many poets did it, and it leads to the development of a language.

Truly, face is an index of mind that reveals many things and face is also deceptive as it also conceals many things but there are people who by seeing the face can judge what it reveals and what it conceals.

Eyes see not the red, Within, as outwards they stare, Neither the tint of blood, Nor the hint of anger and despair. Selfie, in solitude, or in a crowd, without a doubt, The self can be deaf, and tune itself out. To see our true self, Who to us is unknown, We need our inner ears, Not the camera of a cell-phone. Warm regards, as always, ~Naren

Wow! Naren bhai thank you so much for such a beautiful in depth comment. The word selfie was my inspiration, intended for a double sense leading to a world with in. I thought the word 'alone' and 'within' would hint for a connection. I guess didn't work that well. Your comment certainly removes the ambiguity. Thank you so much.
