Self-Unassured Poem by Britani Bonifazi

Self-Unassured

I cocooned myself today for safety,
Safety that is never guaranteed.
I cocooned myself today from chaos,
Chaos that has taken over me.
I cocooned myself today from judgment,
Brought on fast, with no room for error.
I cocooned myself because it’s right,
To bundle myself, to brace my fights.
I cocooned myself to build up strength,
To assure myself from my self’s hate.
