Self Sabotage Poem by Ben Huff

Self Sabotage

Self Sabotage
Is the only reason that makes sense
For the state I'm in today
I could be among the crowd of 'lovers'
But I let fear strangle me till I can't breathe
As long as she's in my world though
She will be the light that makes my world bright

Taking me back to when I was happy
Is what you do, with every word you speak
I see a sea of love in front of me
But the dive off the cliff frightens me
I need an angel to shove me over the edge
But it hasn't showed its face, that I know
Self Sabotage

Take me into your arms
I was strong then, but I'm growing weaker into nothing
The moments that went by to quickly
Seem like forever in time and then some
This is why my time for looking is reaching its end
Self Sabotage

I mean to run, but I stumble instead
I choose the high mountain, instead of the grassy planes
Self Sabotage is what seems to happen
But I reach the mountain top, after meeting the fiercest resistance
The waiting was the roughest part
The words fly out when I see you

This story has reached its end
The conclusion is yours to decide
Will you fight for yours
Or will the easy way be your choice by
Self Sabotage
