**self- Portrait! Poem by RAJ NANDY

**self- Portrait!

Rating: 5.0

SELF - PORTRAIT!
I had once tried to do, a self-portrait with
watercolor hues, -
Using black, white and azure blue!
Water was a medium difficult to control
and hold,
Yet I tried it out despite being cautioned and
told!
Unlike oil where you can amend or change, -
The texture and tone with mixture of paints!
The water in my portrait began to flow and
spread, -
And the contour of my face began to blur and
fade!
The black disappeared in the middle of night,
The blue spread out and blended with the
morning sky!
Please don’t ask me how or why!
Only the white had remained on the white
painting sheet, -
And gently merged with the background
to make my portrait complete!

THAT IT WAS EASIER TO PAINT WITH OIL COLOR!
AND THAT ONE DAY I TOO SHALL DISAPPEAR!)

It looks your portrait is like Gandhi in white portion of currency note! A difficult art to practise indeed! ! ! 'The water in my portrait began to flow and spread, -/ And the contour of my face began to blur and fade! ' Wonderful lines..... Poetry excels your portrait! ! !
